Cedarbrook Sale Delayed The Shoreline School Board has voted to delay the sale of Cedarbrook until August 1, 2010, giving us time to develop a viable plan for the preservation of Cedarbrook as a park. Please consider going to the next school board meeting to thank them for making this decision. We have accomplished the first step towards making Cedarbrook
Park a reality. Our congratulations to the entire community and the School
Board. We now have an opportunity to do something very special and lasting
for our children and our community. Welcome to our site! We are glad you decided to visit. There is much in the way of information here regarding who we are, so please spend some time with us. The Shoreline School District has announced their intent to sell Cedarbrook, a vacant elementary school located in the city of Shoreline, just yards away from the west boundary of Lake Forest Park. The pending sale of this property was quickly recognized by many individuals living in Shoreline and Lake Forest Park as one of the few remaining opportunities to develop a multi-use park in the immediate vicinity. This led to the formation of the "The Coalition for the Preservation of Cedarbrook". Our Immediate Goal Yes, we do have a Mission Statement you can read, defining our reasons for initiating the effort to preserve Cedarbrook as a park, as well as providing an overview of the intended approach. For us to be successful with this endeavor, the first step must be to secure the property. If we are able to accomplish this, a subsequent process will be necessary to determine the park's design. Our FAQ provides background information pertaining to the sale of Cedarbrook and how we are focusing our efforts to ensure it is developed into a park. How you can help!
