Mission Statement

Residents of Shoreline and Lake Forest Park, Washington have joined together to form The Coalition for the Preservation of Cedarbrook.

Our Mission

To preserve the site of the former Cedarbrook Elementary School as a public use area that will include open green space, creeks, an active park and sports field.

Our Objective

To secure the continued availability of this popular green space and sports field in an area that currently lacks any comparable facility. Preservation of Cedarbrook as a public park will enhance the quality of life of the surrounding community and provide a legacy for our children and future residents.

Our Strategies

1. Collaborate with the Shoreline School Board, the local governments of Shoreline and Lake Forest Park to develop a plan to create an active park on the Cedarbrook property.
   
2. Meet with appropriate organizations and government agencies to identify and develop alternative sources of funding for the purchase of the property
   
3. Work to prevent the sale of the Cedarbrook School property for the purpose of private development.
   
4. Contribute to the protection and restoration of the watershed and existing creeks.
